Study Abroad

  3. Study Abroad

The IS&T global engagement effort is strategically focused on intense collaborations with universities that offer mobility and research opportunities for our students and faculty.

Why travel aboard? There are numerous advantages to studying abroad for students. Students should consider studying abroad for several reasons:

  1. The opportunity to study abroad provides students with the chance to enroll in renowned educational institutions that offer programs and courses that are not available at home. As a result of having access to a variety of teaching materials, resources, and perspectives, their academic experience can be enhanced and they can grow intellectually and personally.

  2. Immersion in Culture: Living and studying abroad provides students with the opportunity to experience a new culture. As a result, they gain a deeper understanding of the customs and values of the host country, learn a new language, and explore different traditions. A world that is increasingly interconnected fosters tolerance, adaptability, and global awareness through cultural immersion.

  3. Learning to adapt to new environments and step outside of one's comfort zone is one of the most important aspects of studying abroad. As a result of this experience, they may become more independent, confident, and resilient. Foreign living also exposes students to diverse perspectives, preparing them to think critically and develop a broader worldview.

  4. Building a global network of friends, classmates, and professors: Studying abroad facilitates the building of a global network of friends, classmates, and professors. It is possible to leverage these connections to increase career opportunities, collaborate with colleagues, and share cultures. It can also enrich someone's perspective and foster lifelong friendships to interact with others from different backgrounds.

  5. Studying abroad may enhance your career prospects because employers value the skills and qualities you develop. It is important for students to be able to adapt to new environments, communicate with people from different cultures, and demonstrate flexibility and independence in the workplace. Many professions value people who can embrace challenges and take initiative, which can be demonstrated through studying abroad.

  6. Experiencing new places and traveling to nearby destinations is one of the greatest advantages of studying abroad. Traveling to nearby countries or attractions is a popular activity among students while abroad. Students can benefit from this experience by broadening their horizons, experiencing other cultures, and making lasting memories.
