Speech-language pathology is a diverse and rapidly growing profession. Speech-language pathologists work with infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults who experience challenges with speech, language, literacy, cognitive communication, social communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing. SLPs help individuals improve communication, maximize independence, and enhance their quality of life in educational, healthcare, and community settings.
Graduates of UNO’s program are well prepared to pursue professional certification through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), state licensure, and rewarding careers in schools, medical facilities, rehabilitation centers, early intervention programs, private practice, and other community-based settings.
