Biography
Thomas Maxson, MS, LIMHP, LADC, MAC, SAP is an Instructor in the Counseling Department in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He has over 25 years of clinical experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, as well as those involved with the criminal justice system. Tom has provided training for various organizations in the areas of co-occurring disorders, clients with complex needs, and working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. He has also provided supervision to many individuals completing their mental health and alcohol and drug counseling licenses. The focus of his teaching is on addiction counseling and training counselors to work with clients with complex needs and co-occurring disorders.
