Responsibilities
• Manages the Director’s schedule• Maintains budgets
• Assists faculty in all aspects of administrative duties
• Processes orders
• Makes deposits (except concert proceeds)
• Keeps program books for ASCAP, SESAC, BMI
• Hires/trains student workers
• Supervises office work study students
• Faculty/Staff reimbursements
• Copier maintenance/copy allowances
• Keeps faculty meeting minutes
• Enters the class schedule (through Registrar)
• Faculty workload reports
• Purchasing card reconciliation
• Issues part-time faculty contracts
• Maintains graduate files
• Inventory control
Brandi Kawula retired from teaching after 20 years for Bellevue Public Schools. During that tenure she was Director of Bands at Lewis & Clark Middle School and served as the district curriculum chair. Her bands had the honor of performing at Nebraska State Bandmasters Spring Convention in 2009, 2015, and 2019 and the Nebraska Music Educators Convention in 2019.
In 2010, Brandi was awarded the Jack R. Snider Young Band Director’s Award. She served as the Membership Chair for NSBA from 2014 to 2020, President from 2021 to 2024, and as Corporate Chair from 2025 to present. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, a Master of Music from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a Master of Science in Education from Peru State College.
