Biography

Casey Riesberg has a background in Communication emphasizing in organizational, health, and intercultural communication. She also has her Masters Certificate in Corporate training and a bachelor's in PR/Advertising. Her work has varied from marketing for a small Omaha-based nonprofit, training and development for an academic institution, and teaching as an instructor.

Casey Riesberg began teaching at UNO as a full-time Instructor in August 2019. UNO Health Coach Cohort, Task Force Member, Health Coaching is a partnership process in which coach and student work collaboratively to move the student to adopt healthy, long-term, sustainable behaviors that can change the course of their lives. Health Coaches follow the principle of whole-person wellness including eight (8) dimensions of wellness (occupational, spiritual, physical, environmental, emotional, social, financial, & intellectual). Health coaching is not mental health counseling. Health coaches must refer if they believe the needs of the student are beyond the scope of their abilities, They must refer to appropriate resources both on-campus and in the greater Metro community. Referrals will be made in consultation with Health Coaching Program Supervisor, Dean Cathy Pettid. Health coaches meet monthly to review best practices and review cases.
