Biography

Andrea M. M. Weare is an assistant professor in the School of Communication. She earned her doctorate in mass communication from the University of Iowa. She teaches strategic communication, media communication, and qualitative research methodology. Her research focuses on digital media / strategic communication, gender, and the body. Areas of interest include popular culture, health, and philanthropy and entrepreneurial communication. Her professional experience includes AmeriCorps service; nonprofit programming; PR and advertising firm work; news and features reporting; and medical research coordination.
