Biography
Dr. Skye Junginger is a saxophonist, composer, and educator. Originally from Omaha, he earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Studies with a focus on Music Technology from the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign. He also holds a Master of Music in Jazz Studies (UIUC, 2021) and a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance (UNO, 2019).
Junginger has toured extensively throughout Asia and Europe, appearing at major festivals and cultural events in Japan, China, South Korea, Lithuania, Latvia, Denmark, and the Czech Republic. Notable highlights include performances at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, the Saulkrasti Jazz Festival in Latvia, and the USA Yongsan Army Base in Seoul, South Korea.
In addition to his international appearances, Junginger has shared the stage with a wide range of acclaimed artists, including Chris Potter, Donny McCaslin, Conor Oberst, and Father John Misty.
Currently based in Omaha, Junginger serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, mentoring the next generation of musicians.
