Katya Jarmulowicz is from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She earned her bachelor’s degree at St. Olaf College under the instruction of Dr. Jenna McBride-Harris. During her time at St. Olaf, she served as Principal Horn of the St. Olaf Orchestra and had the opportunity to perform as a soloist on tour. Following her time at St. Olaf, she attended the Curtis Institute of Music for her master’s degree, where she studied with Jennifer Montone and Jeffrey Lang. While at Curtis, she served as Assistant/Utility Horn in the New Mexico Philharmonic. She has spent past summers at Eastern Music Festival, the Chautauqua Institute, Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and Tanglewood Music Center.
She recently joined the Omaha Symphony as Associate Principal Horn and is currently serving as Acting Principal for the 2026-2027 season. Additionally, she maintains an active freelance career and has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, Grant Park Orchestra, and Philadelphia Orchestra.
