Biography

Jody is an artist, educator and researcher who has taught in a variety of P-16 environments including universities, museums, public schools, and community nonprofits throughout the Midwest. Jody has been a faculty member in Art and Art History at UNO since 2004. In 2023 she was awarded the CFAM Part Time Faculty Teaching Award. Between 2010 and 2023 Jody was also a K-12 art educator for Omaha Public Schools. As a classroom teacher, she received the 2016 Nebraska Outstanding Art Educator of the Year award by the Nebraska Art Teachers Association.

As an artist, she believes that creating art can transform lives. She maintains an active studio practice and tries to make art every day. Her artwork has been shown in over 95 peer-reviewed exhibitions across the country, including at the Des Moines Art Center, the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, the Sioux City Art Center, and South Bend Regional Museum of Art.
