Peru Study Abroad 2016

The Sociology of Tourism: The Peruvian Experience

This year, 2016, marks the 7th Peru Study Abroad organized by the Office of Latino/Latin American Studies (OLLAS) at UNO. Students have returned from this experience every year since 2008 saying that it was “life-changing” and “transformative” because of the way that we approach study abroad: we are students, not tourists. That doesn’t mean participants won’t have plenty of fun exploring Machu Picchu, Cuzco, and Lima alongside their fellow UNO students and faculty.

See the video below to learn more about the 2016 Peru Study Abroad, "The Sociology of Tourism: The Peruvian Experience."

The video below is part of the 2016 Peru Study Abroad Service Learning Project. Our Peru 2016 students participated in Service Learning with SEMPA, a Jesuit service organization in the Andahuaylillas area, and created this promotional video for their Ruta del Barroco, "Andean Baroque Route," the funds from which help to sustain their service programs.
