OLLAS 20th Anniversary

2023 marked the 20th anniversary of UNO’s Office of Latino/Latin American Studies (OLLAS)! Two decades ago, in November of 2003, OLLAS was established with the support of UNO faculty, staff, and students as well as the metropolitan community. Since then, OLLAS has been a leader in education, community engagement, and community-based research on topics that impact tens of thousands of residents in the city, state, and nation. Today, they are the only academic unit within the University of Nebraska system dedicated to the research, teaching, and community engagement of the Latino community and Latin American Nations in the state.

In the words of Dr. Cristián Doña-Reveco, OLLAS Director, “OLLAS is definitely one of UNO’s gems.”
