MATH 1120 Student Art Showcase

Making Art With Math

Students in MATH 1120 Mathematical and Computational Thinking create works of art using mathematics and coding. This gives students an opportunity to express themselves, and demonstrates that math can be a creative activity! See below for galleries of student work over the past year:

Best of All Time

  • A mosaic-style image of an antlered deer made of rainbow triangles.
  • A mosaic design of Jack Skellington from A Nightmare Before Christmas.
  • Jason Voorhees in his mask holding a machete in the woods, with his reflection showing in a pond.
  • A picture of a mountain with the sun and trees. The illmuniated sides of the mountains and trees are rainbow-colored.
  • Butterflies striped with may shades of the same color, but each butterfly is a different size and color from the next.
