  5. Fast Track Program
Students who plan to earn their MS or MA Mathematics can get a head start with the Fast Track program! This program allows Undergraduate students to take up to nine credit hours of Graduate-level classes and have them count towards both their BS/BA Mathematics and MS/MA Mathematics at UNO. This can help them complete an entire semester of their Masters degree early!
Requirements
  • Declare a BS or BA Mathematics degree.
  • Minimum Undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
  • Completed 60 credit hours (Junior status).
  • Complete the Fast Track Approval Form with your Undergraduate Advisor and future Graduate advisor.
  • Retain a 3.0 GPA to remain in good standing.
  • Apply for the MS or MA Mathematics program during your final semester.
    • Note: the MS Data Science program is not eligible for Fast Track. But the MS and MA Mathematics programs have a Concentration in Data Science!
Benefits
  • Can complete up to 9 cr (3 classes) for the MS or MA Mathematics, and have those classes also count towards your BS or BA Mathematics. This reduces the amount of time spent earning your Masters degree!
  • Undergraduate tuition can apply to Graduate courses taken via this program!
    • Note that Graduate tuition is higher than Undergraduate tuition. Scholarships which pay a set amount or which have upper limits may not cover the full cost of these courses. Contact the Office of Financial Support and Scholarships for more details.
  • Application fee to the Graduate program is waived. Contact the Office of Graduate Studies for a waiver code.
  • No obligation to complete the MS or MA Mathematics. You can use these classes as a "trial run" for Graduate school, and then decide whether you want to commit to a Masters degree!
