Research
Dean Boocker has published numerous articles on the work and influence of John Milton. His published work includes “Milton after 9/11,” in Milton and Popular Culture, “Milton and the Woman Controversy,” in A Search for Meaning: Critical Essays on Early Modern Literature,” and “'Women are indebted to Milton…': Milton and Woman’s Rights in the Nineteenth,” in Arenas of Conflict: Milton and the Unfettered Mind (winner of the Milton Society of American Irene Samuel Award for the best multi-author collection of essays).
Professional Activities
Dean Boocker is an active member of the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences (CCAS). He recently co-authored an article, “Making the Case for Arts and Sciences,” for the CCAS publication Deans and Development: Making the Case for Supporting the Liberal Arts and Sciences. He currently serves on the CCAS Committee on Metropolitan/Urban Universities. He is a lifetime member of the Milton Society of America.

Selected honors include the following: Initiate, Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honors Society, 2012; Recipient, Tennessee Council of Teachers of English Award for Excellence in the Teaching of English, 1994; Initiate, Phi Kappa Phi, 1983.
Hobbies and Interests
Dean Boocker enjoys reading and watching crime dramas, baseball, and fantasy sports. He lives in Omaha with his wife Kathy; both of their children are away at college.
