Injury Evaluations & Treatments
- These are offered to: UNO students and UNO Faculty/Staff who are Campus Recreation and Wellness members.
- What it is: Injury evaluations are conducted by a certified athletic trainer (ATC). Athletic trainers are licensed healthcare professionals who specialize in preventing, assessing, and treating activity-related injuries. IPC athletic trainers are certified by the Board of Certification and licensed by the state of Nebraska.
-
What to expect: Your evaluation may include a visual assessment, range-of-motion testing, muscle strength testing, and area-specific clinical tests. Functional movement assessments—such as walking, squatting, or lifting—may also be used.
-
Scheduling: Appointments are recommended and can be scheduled in advance. Walk-ins may be accepted based on availability, but are not guaranteed.
Consent requirements: Patients under 19 years of age must bring a completed parental consent form to their first appointment (provided by IPC). The consent form can be provided in hard copy, emailed, or faxed to the respective parent or guardian.
Your First Appointment
- These are offered to: UNO students and UNO Faculty/Staff who are Campus Recreation and Wellness members.
- Check-in: When you arrive, an IPC student worker will greet you and assist you with check-in. You may be asked to complete additional paperwork if it was not completed when scheduling your appointment.
-
Your evaluation: You’ll meet one-on-one with a certified athletic trainer for your injury evaluation. Most evaluations take place in our open clinic space, which may be shared with other patrons.
-
Privacy options: Prefer a private setting? A private exam room is available upon request. Just let your athletic trainer know.
