Additional Information

Biography

Originally from Millard, Tom has lived in Omaha his whole life. He has two daughters that keep him busy. His parents both have eight siblings so family gatherings have always been huge. He considers his sensibility to be that of a small-town guy.

Education

  • ITT Technical Institute, 1998

Why UNO and Digital Learning

I enjoy A/V and the challenges that come with it. Every day is different and it never seems to get dull. I specifically enjoy being at UNO because of the team atmosphere. Someone's got your back, there is always help to be found.

Outside Interests and Hobbies

I enjoy most movie genres, a wide variety of music (pop from 50s-today, 90s alternative, a little country and some rock). Experimenting with smart home devices and programming A/V at home is a hobby of mine as well. It's even more fun when it's your own movie room you get to program and tweak.

I also really enjoy video gaming with my daughters and interacting with them in various other ways. Challenging them and teaching them. I enjoy watching them grow and learn things. It's enjoyable to witness them pick up on things you enjoy and do, and repeat them. A proud parent is one that gets our favorite (appropriate) song stuck in the head of our 8 year old. I really have too many hobbies to list... Snow and water skiing, motorcycling, movies, music, video gaming, cooking to name a few.

Favorite Food

As one with Celiacs, I miss eating Gluten. Before Celiacs, I would have never guessed what gluten was or what products it is all in. Cinnabon... can't do it. Fast food... is the fry fryer shared with breaded items... if so the fries now have gluten, etc. So I guess I can say another hobby is finding ways to eat what I enjoyed pre-diagnosis.
