Who We Are, What We Do

A group of individuals is seated together in a well-lit conference room, actively engaging in a thoughtful and lively discussion.

The Teacher Identity and Retention Lab (TIRL) is a multi-disciplinary research lab housed at the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Teacher Scholars Academy. We use qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research to investigate problems in education related to teacher retention, including the development of professional identity (teacher identity). One of TIRL’s aims is to build capacity for educational and educational psychology research in graduate, undergraduate students, and even high schoolers. We also seek to develop research partnerships across international settings. Please reach out if you are interested in collaborating on research!
