Biography

Don Bowen has been teaching at UNO since the fall semester of 2012 while a student in the School of Communication graduate program. After serving as a graduate assistant and an adjunct instructor, he is now full-time faculty.

Bowen joined the academic field after a 20-year career in journalism, where he covered a variety of beats, including local government, sports and business. Over his career, he held reporter and editor positions and won 42 awards in a variety of writing, photography and page design categories.

Before serving at UNO, he taught journalism courses at Midland University in Fremont.
