What we do

The Department of Management teaches undergraduate, graduate, and executive education courses in three broad areas of organization management, human resource management, and supply chain management. We build organizations and leaders by teaching you the aspects of management that help all organizations succeed—from start-ups to Fortune 500 firms. Our students excel at both the technical and the interpersonal sides of management.

Who we are

Our faculty have practical experience and diverse degrees, allowing us to excel in the classroom, in the academic field, and in the community. We are engaged in cutting-edge research on management practice and leadership, bringing to the classroom new ideas, working to solve management problems with Omaha organizations, and providing opportunities for you to get involved.

How we excel

Innovative teaching: Our department is home to some of the most innovative programming in CBA and on campus. Unique, hands-on experiences provide students with the best opportunities to engage and learn. The Capstone Cup brings the boardroom to the classroom. Our MBA Capstone Experience gives students a real consulting project for a local start-up or non-profit.

Research portfolio: Our faculty develop new knowledge related to building organizations and leaders. We publish in the top management journals including Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Organization Science. Additionally, our faculty have been awarded funding from the Department of Defense and the Fulbright Program.

The Koraleski CAB LAB is a cutting-edge research lab developed and run by faculty from our department. We provide students unique opportunities to get involved in this research as research participants, lab workers, or graduate assistants. Additionally, through faculty mentorship, our management students receive funding for their own research through FUSE or GRACA.

Community engagement: Our department engages with the community in ways like no other school in the region. Our advisory board keeps us on the cutting edge of management practice. We use our vast alumni network here in the Omaha metro to work with local businesses, government, and nonprofits.

Our faculty are part of our community’s fabric, serving as speakers, consultants, and board members for local organizations. We leverage these connections for our students through our innovative programming and events.

Graduate

The MBA is a graduate program for current and aspiring managers. We provide core and elective courses for graduate students in this program.

Executive

The Executive MBA is tailored to current or aspiring executives. Our faculty share their expertise in this program.

Our faculty support other areas of executive programming including executive education and customized programs.
