Bryant Robertson Wins the Barbara Miller Graduate Scholarship!

Bryant tells us why he loves economics ...

Bryant Robertson.

"What I love about economics is that it essentially teaches you to question everything and to think outside the box about what variables could be causing a certain outcome. This practice is useful in pretty much every aspect in anyone's life and is why economic is such an important subject."

Haylee Faltin Wins the Barbara Miller Senior Scholarship!

Haylee tells us why she loves economics ...

Haylee Faltin.

"I love economics because it helps explain the world, both socially and fiscally. I have made connections across my studies and in life that I never would have without it. Economics has also challenged me continually, forcing me to step out of my academic comfort zone and achieve greater advancements."

Judson Hixson Wins the Barbara Miller Junior Scholarship!

Jud tells us why he loves economics ...

Jux Hixson.

"I love economics because of how many applications there are for it. The economic process can identify market inefficiencies data to evaluate processes. Then economics can help us take advantage of the market inefficiencies we find. This can be done across all areas of anything that someone takes an interest in; it does not apply to business decisions alone."

Bryan Botkin Wins the James Horejs Scholarship!

Bryan tells us why he loves economics ...

Bryan Botkin.

"I enjoy economics because its concepts apply to everything in the world.  Many think that economists solely study financial markets and analyze graphs, but that couldn't be more wrong.  Economists study choices.  The skills developed in this major help me understand why every individual, business, and government make the decisions they make.  It's hard to choose one area to learn in college, so instead, I chose to study everything at once."

Noah Polacek Wins the James Horejs Scholarship!

Noah tells us why he loves economics ...

Noah Polacek.

"The main reason I love studying economics is that it gives me the tools to analyze and understand the world around me. Economic ideas are present everywhere, and I know that I can succeed anywhere with the ideas I've learned in my classes."

Madeline Foreman Wins the Bun Song Lee Scholarship!

Maddie tells us why she loves economics ...

Madeline Foreman.

"I like economics because it helps us understand the world and it provides an analytical way of solving real-world problems."

Jill Bydalek Wins the Horace and Kate King Wu Scholarship!

Jill tells us why she loves economics ...

Jill Bydalek.

"... If we make better decisions now, we improve our long-term welfare. We are living in a critical moment for our country and economics is in the center. When an economy is healthy, people feel purposeful and more in command of their choices. There is dignity in satisfying work, and I believe a healthy economy can heal some of the strife we have witnessed this year...I chose UNO, as I sensed it would give me the best connection to teaching opportunities. My UNO experience has been excellent. Thank you to Dr. Co and all the professors that have challenged and encouraged me."

Taylor Finn Wins the Outstanding Graduate Award!

Taylor tells us why she loves economics ...

Taylor Finn.

"Economics has challenged me to analyze the world differently. It has helped me break down complex problems and understand them with better clarity. Economics is everywhere and studying it has made me a better thinker and problem solver in all aspects of my life."

Haylee Faltin Wins the Outstanding Undergraduate Award (CBA)!

Luis Rodriguez Wins the Outstanding Undergraduate Award (A&S)!

Luis tells us why he loves economics ...

Luis Rodriguez.

"I like economics because it explores the collective behavior of individuals and equips a mathematician like myself with the tools necessary to model and research the future of countries, businesses, and communities."
