Shows

Public and private shows are available. See below for more information.

The Mallory Kountze Planetarium is scheduled to begin offering public shows on Friday, August 23. Private, small-group reservations are available now.

Public Shows

Our public shows are multimedia programs portraying seasonal and current astronomical events. These are "live" programs, designed for general audiences, highlighting star patterns, mythology, and planets visible in the current sky. A staff member is available to discuss audience questions following the presentation.

The show schedule for each month will release on the 15th day of the prior month. For example, the June schedule will release on May 15th.

Admission: $10/individual. Tickets must be purchased in advance using the link below.

Private/Group Shows

Small-group, private shows are available to reserve now.

Each presentation at is 50 -60 minutes and includes a fulldome video on a topic of your choice and a What’s Up? in the sky presentation. The young or young-at-heart lay on the floor; chairs provided on request.

Pricing:

  • < 10 individuals: $100
  • 10-25: $200
  • 26-50: $350
  • 51-66: $450
  • >42 chairs set up: + $25

Workshops

Workshop sessions include a planetarium show, a What's Up current sky program, and a modular program with hands-on interactives. Maximum participant count is 42.

  • 90 min: $400
  • 2 hours: $450

Mobile Planetarium

We'll bring the planetarium to you! Includes an age/topic-appropriate fulldome video show from our catalog. Each presentation is 45 minutes, including seating and releasing the audience.

Your site must have a 20’ x 20’ room with a 10’ ceiling.

  • Gr. K through 6: 30 students w/ instructors
  • Gr. 7-12: 24 students w/ instructors

*Any destination more than 50 miles from UNO's Dodge campus will have a $25 per-50-miles surcharge added.

Parking Information

  • We are located in the Durham Science Center on UNO's Dodge campus.
  • Parking is very limited at UNO on weekday afternoons.
  • Please consult visitor parking to purchase permits.
  • UNO parking is free on Friday nights and weekends.
