In order to better serve the needs of fellow students, Student Government has created a number of student agencies whose mission is to promote, educate, and serve our campus. These five agencies represent those student populations that have been typically under-served on our campus.

Women and Gender Equity Center

The Women and Gender Equity Center (WGEC), 114 MBSC, works with the UNO community to address issues both on campus and in the Omaha Metro Area. The WGEC is a student-run, multi-service agency offering everyone the opportunity to explore and discover resources pertaining to women's lives and gender equity. In addition to offering resources, the WGEC also works to provide a parenting and lactation-friendly space on campus that is welcoming to parents of all gender identities and their children, equipped with a rocker, changing supplies, pack and play, toys, books, and more.

American Multicultural Students

UNO's American Multicultural Students Agency strives to assist the University in fully integrating all multicultural students by providing social, cultural, and educational activities that encourage a supportive atmosphere for individual growth. We want to create an inclusive environment for all students. Our goal is to make sure that our underrepresented groups feel welcomed and have a place to express their identities.

International Student Services

The Agency of International Student Services (ISS) is responsible for assisting international students with academic, social, and cultural needs on campus. ISS works to enhance on-campus experiences for international students, as well as provide non-international students the opportunity to learn about other cultures from around the world.

Network for Disability Awareness

Network for Disability Awareness (NDA) is a Student Government agency with a mission to provide awareness of various disabilities and social support to those with disabilities. This group is inclusive to all students who have disabilities, their support system, and those who are advocates.

Queer and Trans Services

UNO's Queer and Trans Services (QTS) is an agency and student organization that supports students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans spectrum, queer spectrum, intersex, asexual, two-spirit, gender spectrum, and sexuality spectrum (LGBTQIA2S+). Any student is welcome regardless of gender or sexual orientation. Throughout the year, QTS provides community sexual health resources and LGBTQIA2S+ programming.

First Generation Student Agency

The First Generation Student Agency (FGSA) was created to support and provide resources, guidance, and developmental opportunities for first-generation college students. FGSA strives to empower members to proudly embrace the label of “first-generation college students” by welcoming and supporting all students on their endeavor to navigate college life.
