Curriculum Advisory Committee

  1. UNO
  2. Nebraska University Center for Cybersecurity (NebraskaCYBER)
  3. About
  4. Curriculum Advisory Committee

The role of the Cybersecurity Curriculum Advisory Committee (CAC) is to provide a bridge between the Cybersecurity community of faculty, staff, and students, to the community at large—our alumni, friends, businesses, corporations, and foundations—in order to shape the exciting future of the Cybersecurity Program and the College of IS&T. CAC members can potentially be involved in one or more of the following activities:

  • Departmental strategy and vision
  • Curriculum and programmatic development strategy
  • Development of student internship and employment opportunities
  • Developing opportunities for networking, mentoring, and guest speaking
  • Human resource maintenance—encouraging employees and colleagues to participate in learning opportunities by pursuing graduate/undergraduate degree programs and certification in information assurance areas
  • Identifying and developing joint/cooperative research, joint/sponsored student projects, specific-term development, and consulting initiatives of mutual interest to businesses and cybersecurity faculty/staff/students
  • Identifying and developing funding opportunities such as endowed chairs, research grants, or fellowships
  • Identifying and developing faculty-in-residence programs
  • Identifying and developing internship and co-op opportunities
  • Establishing brand recognition for UNO Cybersecurity programs

The CAC plans to meet twice a year as a lunch meeting. Members may receive curriculum-related materials to review prior to the meeting, and the focus is on the discussion to test ideas/initiatives, identify gaps, and engage in future thinking.
