Sociology & Anthropology - An Interdisciplinary Degree

Sociology is the scientific study of human relationships. Sociologists seek to understand the ways that often unseen social forces shape our lives.

Anthropology is the holistic study of human biology and culture across time and place, encompassing four sub-disciplines:

  • Archaeology
  • Biological anthropology
  • Linguistic anthropology
  • Socio-cultural anthropology

Advance Your Career with a Liberal Arts Education

A degree in sociology provides students with a well-rounded liberal arts education, highly valued in today's workplace for developing critical thinking and decision-making skills. The program is perfect for students who are interested in advancing within their career or changing careers because Sociology develops the practical skills needed to understand and keep up with the changing world, such as:

  • Interpreting and analyzing data
  • Designing and conducting a research project
  • Developing written communication and presentation skills
  • Solving problems and identifying solutions
  • Navigating issues of global diversity

Sociology & Anthropology Explained

Sociology and Anthropology have a distinct perspective on social inequality, patterns of behavior, forces for social change and resistance, and how social systems work.

Sociologists seek to understand the ways that often unseen social forces shape our lives through the scientific study of social life, while Anthropology is the holistic study of human biology and culture across time and place.
