Apply to be a UHOP Scholar

The Urban Health Opportunities (UHOP) Scholarship application information.

UHOP Application Cycle is September 1 - January 17.


1. Apply to UNO

Complete the UNO Application for Undergraduate Admission.


2. Obtain Your NUID and Password

The UHOP Application requires you to input your NUID.

If you do not know what your NUID is, please seek NUID assistance.


3. Submit the UHOP Scholars Application

Please carefully review the information below. This will contain application steps, outline the information you will need to provide, and list necessary contact information for the UHOP Application team.

All steps must be completed by January 17th, 2026 at 11:59 PM. We must receive all application materials in order to be considered.The scholarship is not first come first serve. All applications will be evaluated after January 17th.

  • Complete the application questionnaire.
  • Complete 3 short answer questions
  • Identify two individuals to write you a letter of recommendation and send them the following link: Letter of Recommendation Form

READ CAREFULLY: Instructions Below Regarding the Letters of Recommendation

Letters of recommendation can be from the following: a high school principal, a high school counselor, a high school science teacher, an academic advisor, a college professor, and/or a medical professional.

The UHOP team will not send letter requests to your letter writer. You must send the link above to your letter writers so that they can submit your recommendation.

If writers have any difficulty they can reach out to unohealthcareers@unomaha.edu or 402-554-5980.

Throughout the application you will be asked to provide the following uploads:

  • Attach your RESUME, which should include academic, extracurricular, and employment information.
  • Attach all relevant transcripts (high school, college)

Note: Application is open to both high school seniors and current college students.
