AHEC Shadowing Guide

Shadowing is an important part of a pre-health student's journey and application. Many programs, such as Medical Schools, Nursing Schools, and Physician Assistant schools require shadowing as a prerequisite to apply. Learn more about shadowing in these helpful guides provided by Omaha AHEC!

Omaha AHEC knows that finding health-related job shadowing opportunities can be difficult so we curated a short guide called “Job Shadowing 101” to help. Within this handbook, we outline common rules and expectations one should foresee, a list of locations that offer programs and opportunities to the general public, and a list of helpful tips to help make the most out of your shadowing experiences. We hope that this resource can help job showing feel less daunting and make the process easier for those in need! Take a look below!

Questions about shadowing? Meeting with a pre-health advisor is a great way to resolve any unanswered questions! Appointments can be scheduled through MavCONNECT or by calling 402.554.5980
