About Clare
Clare Berry (she/her/hers) currently serves as the Omaha AHEC Center Director, working to help students enter health careers and healthcare professionals thrive in their careers. She also serves as the Urban Health Opportunities Program (UHOP) Director.
She earned an MA in Sociology 2017 and an interdisciplinary BA in Spanish, International Studies, and Latino/Latin American Studies in 2012, both from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Clare's graduate studies focused on medical sociology and anthropology as well as environmental sociology. She has taught undergraduate courses on public health and sociology. Formerly, she worked in the UNO Office of Latino/Latin American Studies (OLLAS) coordinating short-term faculty-led study abroad programs, including those exploring healthcare-focused sites in Spanish-speaking countries, and working with community engagement initiatives involving the Latinx population in the greater Omaha area.
Outside of work, Clare enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, working with local food justice organizations, exploring fine food and beverages, and listening to music, podcasts, and audiobooks.
