Our Programs
Student Leadership, Involvement, and Inclusion provides cultural programs that engage and educate our diverse student body. We plan programs during nationally recognized heritage months all throughout the year.
Our office provides a safe space for diverse American ethnic groups to commune together in a shared learning environment. Located in the Milo Bail Student Center, Student Leadership, Involvement, and Inclusion, partners with the university and other valued community partners to ensure a holistic educational experience.
Advisors and staff assist students as they navigate, define, and attain personal and educational goals. We welcome all students, faculty, and staff to the programs we host.
Student leaders, along with the support of advisors, plan events to highlight, educate, and enjoy the diverse ethnic groups we serve.
Student Involvement
The college experience at UNO is not just about what takes place in the classroom, lab, and library while students earn their degree.
The Office of Student Leadership, Involvement, and Inclusion (SLII) will have countless opportunities for students to pursue their favorite activities, discover new interests, refine their skills, and build lifelong friendships.
SLII is home of student government with a growing number of student-led organizations and a student-run newspaper.
Cultural Programming
We focus on collaborative efforts within the university and community partners. These cultural celebrations provide students with unique opportunities to experience culturally rich identities that represent the greater Omaha area.

Students take college-credit courses and connect with faculty, staff, students while learning about the college experience—academic coursework, time management, college admissions, scholarships, and financial aid.
Maverick Royalty
Our office intentionally works to serve incoming Freshmen who are not tethered to a learning community with wrap around services. The core values of the program are mentorship, professional development, community engagement, and exposure to campus resources. As part of the framework, there will be interactive monthly life skills sessions that are led and facilitated by subject matter experts.
OMAHA GREEKS
The fraternity and sorority community at UNO, better known as Omaha Greeks, serves to enhance the growth and development of UNO students through their engagement within these historical organizations. SLII aims to provide an integrative learning environment that fosters a sense of belonging for the individual student rooted in a shared commitment to their fraternal oath.
Campus and Community Outreach
SLII staff encourage and advocate for students to reach their full potential, such as supporting students in finding employment opportunities, internships, campus resources, and more to develop both academically, personally, and professionally.
