NCITE hosted its annual ENVISION conference June 25-27, 2024. For three days, our consortium of expert researchers came together in Omaha to share their unique perspectives on some of the world's most complex challenges.

NCITE Ribbon Cutting

The conference kicked off June 25 with a ribbon cutting that served as the official opening for NCITE's new office space on the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Scott Campus.


The following two days of ENVISION24 included presentations from researchers in the NCITE consortium who spoke on their projects examining the current and future terrorism threat landscape. It also included keynote remarks from:

  • Sam Howerton, Ph.D., chief scientist, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T)
  • Jen Daskal, J.D., deputy assistant to the president and deputy homeland security advisor
  • Nick Rasmussen, counterterrorism coordinator at DHS
