If you are experiencing a mental health crisis:

Call CAPS office at 402.554.2409 to speak with a crisis counselor 24/7

Call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org

Call 911 or UNO Public Safety 402.554.2911 if you are a danger to yourself or others

“College-aged students are at particularly high risk for suicidal ideation, attempts, and deaths. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in people ages 10-24, and 15% of college  students reported experiencing suicidal thoughts in the last year."

University Gate Keeper Training

In this 90 minute on-campus suicide prevention intervention training, you will:
  1. Learn about the prevalence, causes, & risk factors for suicide
  2. Practice skills to intervene in a suicidal crisis
  3. Increase awareness of crisis services offered by UNO CAPS for students' immediate safety and long-term mental health
