CAPS offers outreach and education services to increase awareness and skills related to our services and general mental health topics.
About Our Services
Need a 15-30 minute overview of the services that CAPS offers and how to access them? A CAPS therapist will visit your class, department, or group meeting to tell you more about all that we offer. To schedule an overview of our services, email our Associate Director Katherine Keiser at klkeiser@unomaha.edu or call 402.554.2409.
University Gatekeeper Program
A 115-minute interactive workshop that teaches participants to recognize the warning signs of suicide, practice crisis intervention skills, and make the appropriate referrals. To sign up for a Gatekeeper Training, contact our Suicide Prevention and Education Coordinator at suicideprevention@unomaha.edu or call 402.554.2409.
Ally Training
Become a Recovery Ally during our 90-minute training (for staff and/or students) where we include basic science, racial justice, and philosophies of care and recovery. Recovery Allies will increase a community's recovery capital, decrease stigma, and build intervention skills. For more information about becoming a Recovery Ally or to request a training, email dbergmann@unomaha.edu or call 402.554.2409.
