Get Involved: Make a Difference for Older Adults

Spread joy all year long by supporting UNO’s community engagement traditions. Each February, our Make a Valentine for an Older Adult initiative delivers thousands of handmade cards to seniors across the metro—brightening their day with Maverick kindness. During the holiday season, Holiday Gifts for a Senior helps provide meaningful, personalized gifts to older adults who may otherwise go without. Together, these programs connect students, faculty, staff, and community members in uplifting our senior neighbors. Learn how you can get involved in 2026 and continue making an impact.

Make a Valentine for an Older Adult

Thank you to the students, faculty, staff, and community members who helped make our 2025 Valentine’s Day celebration a success. Thanks to your generosity, we delivered nearly 2,000 handmade cards to older adults across 20 senior living facilities—spreading joy, connection, and Maverick spirit throughout our community.

We’re already looking ahead to 2026 and invite you to join us next year as we continue this tradition of kindness and engagement. Stay tuned for details on how you can help us brighten even more hearts next Valentine’s Day.
