The Journal of Information Technology for Development (ITD) is a forum for research and application of Information Technology (IT) infrastructures in emerging economies and their relationships with the developed world. It is the first journal to have explicitly addressed global information technology issues by publishing social and technical research on the subject.

Sponsored by the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, UK, the Journal has an established record of publishing leading research in this area and practitioner views. It is the official Journal of the Association of Information Systems Special Interest Group on Global Development. Research papers submitted to ITD follow a is a double blind peer reviewed process. Practitioner articles are reviewed by their peers. Citations for research papers published in ITD are the highest in its area.

The Journal is published by Taylor and Francis and distributed to institutions globally to be read by researchers and practitioners. The Journal's editorial office is located at College of Information Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO-CIST ).
