The company has a strong focus on community and university engagement and site-specific work. Partners in creative endeavors include collaborations with the African Culture Connection, American Dance Legacy Institute, Bemis, Creighton University, El Museo Latino, Girls Inc., Glacier Creek Preserve, Henry Doorly Zoo, Hillmer Art Gallery, House of Loom, ICAN, Jewish Community Center, Joslyn Art Museum, Kaneko, Methodist Hospital, Nebraska Arts Council, Nebraska Cultural Endowment, Nebraskans for the Arts, NE Chapter of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, Omaha Academy of Ballet, Omaha International Folk Dancers, omaha modern dance collective, Omaha Performing Arts, Omaha Public Library, Omaha Public Schools, Prairie Visions, Premier Physical Therapy, Relay for Life, Sheldon Museum of Art, South High Dance Program, the ARTery, The Durham Museum, and UNO’s Biology, Black Studies, and Theatre Departments, Writers’ Workshop, School of Music, Criss Library and KYNE-TV & KVNO.
The Moving Company Offering Virtual Modern Dance Classes
Highlights from 2014-2015 are below:
Dancers from UNO's The Moving Company and musicians from Ensemble 768 participated in The National Water Dance. This project allowed performance artists to collaborate on forming a nationwide movement choir. It informed and inspired participants and audience members to conserve and protect water resources. Participants from all over the country performed at the same time connected through a live stream online.
The Moving Company performed Thriller by Michael Jackson at The Durham Museum.
