College of Arts and Sciences Support
A good first step is to talk to your advisor or faculty mentor. Some support may be available from your major department.
Student Research Travel Support
The Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences offers up to $500 per academic year to students seeking financial assistance for student presentations at academic conferences. Additional funds may be available for international travel. Generally, funding from the Dean’s office is restricted to transportation and conference registration costs.
A contribution from the student’s home department and the department chair’s signature indicate the department’s support.
You can download the application in one of two formats:
Research Poster Printing
The college provides support for Arts and Sciences students presenting their research at on-campus and off-campus conferences by offering free research poster printing.
Posters should be submitted at least one business day in advance of need. Posters must be submitted as email attachments through a UNO email account to:
Joan Bell at email@example.com
The preferred format is PowerPoint. PDFs are also acceptable.
Poster Size Requirements
Know what the poster size requirements are for your conference. Plan your poster so that one dimension will match one of these sizes. Specify in your email what the finished size of the poster should be. We have poster paper available in:
- 24" width
- 36" width
- 42" width
Other Considerations for Posters
- Use dark print against a light background for greater legibility and to save on ink costs
- We do not provide backing, mounting, or laminating for your posters. All posters are printed on matte heavyweight paper.
