The Department of Biology Minors

Why Minor in the Biological Sciences?

As a biological sciences minor, you are encouraged to view biological concepts from historical, political, and ethical perspectives as you integrate biology with your major. The faculty stresses the process of science and the ability to analyze the surrounding world by generating hypotheses, testing hypotheses, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions.

Students develop oral and written communication skills through active participation in lecture/discussions and collaborative projects both in the classroom and in laboratory/field settings. No matter which major the biology minor is combined with, these skills will be an invaluable addition.
