TLC Extra Support

Sometimes life happens, and a semester doesn't go as well as you hoped. We are here for you to help you figure out how to overcome these obstacles and continue to make academic progress.

Scholarship Appeals will be required when a student does not meet the expectations set forth by the Buffett Foundation. Students must:

  • maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • complete 9 credit hours a semester, and 18 credit hours in an academic year.

Students must also earn credits when they attempt credits to ensure they are meeting scholarship expectations.

If a scholar does not meet expectations, they will be contacted within 48 hours of the end of the semester to let them know they have not met expectations. They will be given a chance to appeal to the Buffett Foundation to keep their scholarship.

The appeal letters are generally due 48 hours after one has been notified of their need to appeal. Failure to submit an appeal will result in removal of your scholarship prior to the start of the next term. If you have questions about needing to appeal, please reach out to Kelly Irby.

Once a student's appeal is accepted, and they are given the opportunity to retain their scholarship, they will be expected to participate in the academic intervention program that will offer both personal and academic support. Information about the program will be provided if your scholarship is renewed.
