The Thompson Learning Community (TLC) is all about the students! TLC is designed to promote the academic success of UNO students receiving the Susan T. Buffett Scholarship.

TLC MISSION, COMMUNITY, OUTCOMES SCHOLARSHIP FAQs Basic Needs Resources

William H. Thompson Scholars

Students who receive the Susan T. Buffett scholarships are called "William H. Thompson Scholars" (Thompson Scholars for short) in honor of the father of Susan Thompson Buffett. William H. Thompson served as Professor of Psychology and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Omaha University, which later became the University of Nebraska Omaha. They are automatically members of the Thompson Learning Community (TLC). Thompson Scholars at UNO are provided a sequence of common courses, special activities, advisement, and other opportunities to connect with faculty and peers! TLC is an entry point to UNO, and helps students transition from introductory courses to the major of their choice, but is also always a home base for those who receive the Buffett Scholarship.
