The American Chemical Society (ACS) guidelines for professional training are the basis for our chemistry curriculum offered here at UNO. Courses in general, organic, inorganic, analytical, environmentas, and physical chemistry form the framework of our program. In addition, we offer coursework in biochemistry, organic, inorganic, and polymer chemistry, along with other advanced topics. For students not needing as intense a level of chemistry, we offer a fundamentals track (college and organic chemistry, biochemistry) which meet the requirements for students enrolling into many health-related professional schools.
Students are expected to attend lectures, participate in laboratory work, and become involved in chemistry research. Because chemistry plays a central role in all scientific disciplines the choice of careers of a chemist who earns a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or a Bachelor of Arts (B.S.) is almost limitless.
Please contact the UNO Chemistry Department at (402) 554-2651to learn more about our chemistry programs or to arrange an appointment with an academic advisor in chemistry.

The Chemistry Department is working hard to update it's website. Many pages are currently under renovation and some are still out of date.
