What is the Maverick Mentoring Program?
At UNO, we've partnered with Mentor Collective, the leading provider of high-impact mentoring programs, to offer the Maverick Mentoring Program, pairing juniors and seniors with relevant alumni and industry mentors.
This is someone who has been in your shoes and knows what it's like to begin thinking about your career exploration. UNO students are paired with someone invested in their success — a person ready to listen, inspire, help navigate challenges, and recognize opportunities.
Students will receive advice on how to begin their internship or job search, how to draft a résumé/cover letter, create a Linkedin profile, and receive general tailored advice. At the same time, mentors will have the opportunity to build their networks and develop skills to become better professionals and leaders.
How Does it Work?
Students will be matched with one of UNO's alumni or industry mentor based on common interests, background, academics, and professional aspirations. To get started, students and mentors register and complete an online survey to paint a holistic picture of their interests and experiences.
