  3. How Can I Stay Healthy in College?

Staying healthy in college means caring for your whole self - mind, body, and spirit. From Campus Recreation and Wellness to the Student Health Center and CAPS, UNO offers programs and support across every dimension of wellness to help students thrive throughout their Maverick journey.

Holistic Wellbeing

The 8 Dimensions of Wellness

Wellness is about more than just exercise or a good night's sleep, it’s about finding balance in every part of your life. Explore the Eight Dimensions of Wellness and discover how you can care for your mind, body, and community.

Accessibility Services Center

The Accessibility Services Center (ASC) collaborates with students, administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure access to reasonable and appropriate student disability accommodations. ASC strives to create a fully accessible, inclusive experience for student learning, campus engagement, and residence life.

Campus Recreation and Wellness

Through programs in aquatics, fitness, sports, outdoor adventure, and wellness services, Campus Recreation and Wellness promotes health in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment by creating impactful experiences and opportunities that inspire lifelong wellbeing.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Students don’t have to face challenges alone. CAPS provides free, confidential counseling, groups, and crisis services to support your mental health and wellbeing—available to all UNO students, in person or online. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency after hours, call 402.554.2409 and press '2' to speak with someone directly.

Nebraska Medicine UNO Health Center

The Nebraska Medicine UNO Health Center provides comprehensive care to help Mavericks stay healthy and well. From preventive services and annual physicals to illness treatment, immunizations, lab testing, and mental health care, students have access to the support they need for both everyday and long-term health.
