Louis continued his engineering internship with FoleyShald Engineering this summer after beginning the position during the academic year. In the role, he gained hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD), report writing, and cost estimating on civil engineering projects. Previously, as a Scott Scholars Design Studio intern, he partnered with Scouting America to develop technology solutions that strengthened member engagement while building full-stack development skills. At UNO, Louis is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Outside the classroom, he is a longtime Taekwondo student and instructor and has his second-degree black belt. Louis plans to pursue a career in transportation or construction within the field of civil engineering.
