As a Scott Scholars Design Studio intern this past summer, Abdul Hameed worked with the nonprofit Collective for Hope to strengthen their volunteer recruitment and retention by co-designing a volunteer onboarding system and developing a Standard Operating Procedure to streamline alumni engagement. During this internship, he also completed a nine-week coding bootcamp and built a cross-platform medical app to improve the patient experience in walk-in clinics by integrating live wait times, a chatbot, and staff profiles. On campus, he serves as the event coordinator for the Afghan Student Association. After graduation, he plans to attend medical school and pursue a career as a physician.
