Dawson worked as a plant engineering intern with Metropolitan Utilities District this summer, gaining hands-on experience supporting utility infrastructure and engineering operations. Previously, as a Scott Scholars Design Studio intern, he partnered with Collective for Youth to develop strategies that strengthened the organization's community visibility while also building his programming skills through a coding bootcamp. Dawson has experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and ArcGIS Pro. In addition, Dawson is involved in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Nebraska Engineering Student Council at Omaha (NESCO). For his Community Action Project, he and his team are partnered with Habitat for Humanity. Following graduation, Dawson hopes to launch a career as a design engineer focusing on public infrastructure.
