This summer, Leo worked as an electrical intern at Alvine, where he designed high-rise power distribution systems, analyzed energy code compliance, and carried out construction administration tasks for 12 projects around the country including Draper, Nashville, and Omaha. In addition, he has experience as a structural intern at Infrastructure LLC, a draftsman intern at Jackson Jackson & Associates, and a design intern at DLR Group. Leo has experience with structural analysis in RISA and Excel, as well as structural modeling in Python and Opensees in an academic research setting. At UNO, Leo is actively involved in the Architectural Engineering Student Leadership Committee (AESLAC), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), serves as the vice president of finance for the Nebraska Engineering Student Council at Omaha, and has worked as an undergraduate researcher in UNL's SiRIUS Lab. Following graduation, Leo plans to pursue a career in structural design, particularly for high rise construction. He is interested in sustainable construction techniques and the integration of structure within the architectural form.
