This past summer, Claire worked as an Electrical Engineering Intern at DLR Group, where she gained hands-on experience in electrical and lighting design for architectural projects. Previously, she worked as a Project Design Intern at Habitat for Humanity, contributing to residential design, drafting, permitting, and planning efforts. Claire has also worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the UNL Acoustics Lab with Dr. Lily Wang and as a project coordinator for her mother’s real estate business. She also participated in the Scott Scholars Design Studio internship, partnering with the Department of the Navy and PEO Digital to improve their technical review process through human-centered design thinking. She is experienced with Revit, AGi32, and LightStanza, as well as other design and modeling software, including AutoCAD and SketchUp. For her Community Action Project, Claire and her team are partnered with Child Saving Institute, which focuses on child-centered services and programs. This past year, their team laid the foundation for a structured volunteer program by streamlining the onboarding process for new volunteers and planning the first volunteer appreciation event. Following graduation, Claire plans to pursue her master’s in architectural engineering before entering the industry as a lighting designer. As a licensed realtor, she also plans to continue growing her real estate business while combining her engineering background, passion for design, and real estate experience to ultimately pursue a career in real estate development.
