Additional Information

Nicholas was a 2024-2025 Innovation Ignited Fellow, a prestigious AI and automation program in partnership with MIT. During his fellowship, he worked with the Center for Intelligent Healthcare at UNMC on their cutting-edge patient attendant robot. Nick currently works as a research assistant in the Davis Lab at UNO, where his most recent work involves investigating treatment options for Naegleria fowleri (the brain-eating amoeba). He also contributes to bioinformatics research by identifying DNA mutations in treated samples as part of a collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense. Nicholas has actively volunteered for club soccer camps, ReStore Omaha, and Food Bank for the Heartland. After graduation, he plans to pursue a graduate degree that will lead to a career that leverages modern technologies to improve patient outcomes in the healthcare system.
