Bio

My name is Rylie Powell and I am a senior at UNO with a major in gerontology, a concentration in administration, and a minor in sociology. I am originally from Ashland, Nebraska and graduated from Ashland-Greenwood High School in 2020. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, listening to music, and going for walks. I currently work in the life enrichment department at a facility that offers independent living, assisted living, and memory support care. I am studying gerontology because I thoroughly enjoy working with the aging population. I first became interested in the aging field after my first job as a CNA in a skilled nursing and rehab facility. I have found a love for this field and the individuals who I get to meet. One of my favorite parts of working in this field is to hear the stories and experiences of older adults.
