  5. Financial Aid

Financial aid is available for Ph.D. students in the form of doctoral graduate assistantships and scholarships.

Graduate Assistantships

Exceptional applicants to the Ph.D. program are supported financially through graduate research and teaching assistantships. A doctoral graduate assistantship (GA) includes tuition support for 9 credit hours per semester and a monthly stipend. Most graduate assistantships are provided for the academic year only (Fall and Spring terms). Assistantships are renewed annually or biannually based on the student's satisfactory progress in the program and performance of GA duties.

Graduate Scholarships

UNO's graduate college offers several scholarships for graduate students. Find out more about these scholarships.

Be sure to note the Presidential Graduate Fellowship for Doctoral Students.

Scholarships from the College of IS&T are also available.
