Are you a current or prospective undergraduate student at UNO? Are you interested in teaching computer science and information technology courses in K-12? If so, you're in the right place!

Undergraduate Information Technology Supplemental Endorsement Program

This program provides prospective teachers with the necessary content knowledge to teach a variety of computer science and information technology courses at the PK-12 level. The 18-credit hour program satisfies the Nebraska Department of Education requirements for the PK-12 Information Technology (IT) Supplemental Endorsement.

Required coursework for the supplemental endorsement includes:

  • CSCI1200 – Computer Science Principles
  • CIST1400 – Introduction to Computer Science I
  • CSCI1620 – Introduction to Computer Science II
  • CYBR2600 -- System Administration
  • Choose one of the following:
    • CIST1300 – Introduction to Web Development
    • CSCI2850 – Programming on the Internet
  • TED4000 – Teaching Methods in Computer Science

NOTE: As a supplemental program this endorsement must be added to an existing Nebraska teaching certificate or completed alongside a student’s initial certification program requirements.
